Pictures, Staff News & More!

You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby...

In case you didn't get the email, Doris is looking for photos of the staff from our younger days: high school, grade school, etc.for a National Library Week promotion.  If you'd like to participate, please bring in an old photo and Doris will scan it for you.  Thanks in advance to everyone!

News from Becky:

Ron has been moved out of ICU and into a regular room. He seems to be doing a bit better.  At this point, they aren't planning any other surgeries, but he will have to spend time in a rehab facility, either there or back here.  Please continue to keep both Ron and Becky in your thoughts and prayers.

From Sarah

  Staff,

As I’m sure many of you have heard, Christina Blevins of Believe in Bristol had her baby ,Winston, a little over 2 weeks ago and he was born with Heterotaxy syndrome and is currently at UVA in Charlottesville. Believe in Bristol and lot of downtown people are working to put on a Benefit to raise money for the Blevins family on April 18th at the Culinary School. I have volunteered the BPL as one of the two locations to purchase tickets (the other being TriSummit Bank). I will have them at my desk, so if someone comes by please send them to Circulation and they will call me out there to sell the tickets. I am working on an info. sheet with ticket info. for you to help spread the word and I will send that out soon.

Thank you,

Sarah

St Patrick's Day and More

In case you've forgotten, Sunday is St. Patrick's Day so be sure and wear your green!  It's also the weekend of the Bristol Spring Race, so be on the lookout for extra traffic.  Also for people who have imbibed too much green beer-- or any color alcoholic beverage.

Or plus-sized felines who've had a glass too many!

Wellness Workshop
The next Wellness Workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19. If you're interested in attending, please let Brenda know ASAP so she can give a count to the city.  Teran Moon will be the presenter.  There are two sessions:  3:00-4:00 PM and 4:00-5:00 PM, both at City Hall.

 Staff News

As many of you may have heard, Becky B.'s husband had a brain aneurysm.  He had to go to the Medical Center at Charlottesville where he underwent an operation.  Please keep Becky and Ron in your prayers.

Linda reports that Malachi is over 14 pounds now and will have his handprints installed on the wall at the Niswonger Children's Hospital!  Linda has promised to take photos. If you don't know about the "Graduate Wall" from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, there's an article here.

This Friday, March 8

I'm sure everyone remembers that the library will be closed to the public this Thursday and Friday.  The only exceptions will be for previously scheduled meetings.  Entrance will be through Meeting Room doors only.

From Jud:

This Friday I would like to have an all-staff meeting at 9 a.m. This will not take longer than an hour. Training on the computer system changes could then take place.
