Flu Shots
From Trish Henderson:
As part of the City’s wellness awareness, I am pleased to inform you that the City of Bristol, Virginia will again provide the seasonal flu clinic for employees again this year administered by Mount Rogers Health District.  As always, receiving a flu shot is voluntary.  Only active employees and their spouses are being offered a vaccination.  At-Work employees who are working during the scheduled flu clinic may also receive a vaccination if desired.

All participants will be required to sign a consent form at time of vaccination releasing the City of Bristol Virginia and Mount Rogers Health District staff from any liability which may arise as a result of taking the vaccine.

Participants are asked to bring a copy of their insurance cards along with the completed flu encounter form on the day of the shot
.  If you are unable to meet the schedule requirements as set forth below, then you may present your insurance card and get a vaccination from any participating pharmacy with The Local Choice/Anthem BC/BS or your physician at no cost.

The vaccine schedule is as follows:

            Thursday, October 8, 2015                          1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

            Tuesday, October 20, 2015                          8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Vaccines will be administered in City Hall.

No appointment necessary.  Please contact HR with any questions.

Copies of the form are available on the staff bulletin board or in reference.

PARTY!!!
There's a nip in the air, so we're going to celebrate the arrival of Fall!  On Thursday, October 1, bring something tasty to share.  The festivities will start at noon in the break room. If you are very nice to Jeanne, she won't cook.
Elmer hopes there's something tastier than plastic leaves.

Rhythm & Roots
Hope everyone had a chance to enjoy a little R&R!  There was a dazzling array of music, and there were some familiar faces on stage.
The Harlow Experience

No wonder he "geeked" the banjo!

 Greg Morrell
The local TV stations ran a very nice tribute to Greg Morrell in observance of the anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act.  Greg's mother Sue was interviewed.  Sue was a long time library employee at the Avoca Branch Library and was "Granny Sue" to most of the kids there.
The story can be found here.

   Cabela Tickets
LIS staff members, if you have not picked up your ticket from Jeanne, please do so SOON!  Remember the ticket is Tuesday night, Sept. 29, from 5-9 pm
