Staff Update, Meeting Rooms, & Stuff

Doris
Doris will be out of the library for several weeks.  She was called in the wee hours of Saturday morning with the thrilling news that they had a liver for her.  Surgery took place that same night and she is making a good recovery. She will be out for a number of weeks.  Prayers and good thoughts will be appreciated.

Meeting Rooms
While Doris is out, Ambrea and Justin have graciously agreed to handle the meeting rooms.  Please transfer calls to Reference or else take a message so we can return the call.

 Teen Area Grand Opening!
The Grand Opening is set for Friday at 2:30 pm!  There will be a ribbon cutting and other festivities, so there should be a flurry of activity. We hope the event will attract media, so please direct them to the Teen Area! This is also the kick-off to the Teen Summer Reading Program.

Scholastic Book Sale
Remember, the Scholastic half-price book sale is going on in Children's this week!  They have lots of other little goodies, too, such as posters, drawing kits, pencils, etc.  And it's all half price!  I have dibs on Pusheen stuff.  Just sayin'.  And did I mention half price?

Avoca Summer Reading
Avoca is kicking off their SRP this Friday as well with Mr. Bill's Music, Magic & Comedy Show at 10:30 am.  They have a wonderful slate of events for children and teens, including a pool party and a BMS track tour!

BPL Employee Handbook Sheets
Brenda reports that some people STILL have not signed their sheets attesting to the fact that they've read the Handbook/and or updated your contact info.  Even if you think you've signed, go see Brenda and make sure she has one for you. Next time, we're naming names!  And remember, I still have photos of some people in the Wanted poster from Janice's retirement!

Uh, Brenda.... you DO have a signed sheet from me, right?

Happy Birthday!
