Amnesty Week, Melba Retires, Adult Learning Lab, Walter Niemczak, DST

Amnesty Week
This is the week in which we will be taking food donations for the Bristol Food Pantry in place of fines.  For those returning items, it's one can of food per item and fines are waived.  For those simply owing fines, we will match whatever they pay providing they bring in a can of food to donate.  These are guidelines:  the goal is to get donations for those who are in need, to get as many materials returned as possible, and to clear up as many fines as we can.  Keep this in mind and encourage donations!

Adult Learning Lab
ALL will be career training again this week, which means they will be closed to the public until 2 pm each day.

Walter Niemczak
We lost a long time patron this week when Walter Neimczak passed away.  His wife, Barbara, served on our Board of Trustees for several years.  You can read his obituary here:

 Melba Retires
It was the end of an era when we said goodbye to Melba this past week.  She's promised to come by and visit, and we will hold her to that promise.  Her sweet smile, gentle ways, and concern for our patrons made her a most beloved member of our staff. Check out some of the photos on the library's Facebook page:

Here's wishing you all the best in retirement, Melba!

Daylight Saving Time
This is your early warning reminder that the clocks will move forward next Sunday.  Please, let spring not be far behind!!!
