Bristol Public Library Poster Contest
Bristol,
VA/TN: The Bristol Public Library and its Avoca Branch invites young
people between the ages of 6 to 17 to enter a poster contest honoring
libraries and National Library Week. This year’s theme for National
Library Week which is April 12 through the 18 is UnlimitedPossibilities@your library and the BPL has chosen the theme of “Every Week is Library Week at the BPL” for the contest.
There
will be three age groups for entries: Ages 6-8; Ages 9-12; and, Ages
13-17. There will one winner chosen from each group. Each winning poster
will be displayed at the BPL or Avoca Branch Library for the last two
weeks of April and each winning artist will receive a gift certificate
from Walmart. Entries will be accepted in the Children’s Department
beginning at 9 AM, Wednesday March 25 through 5 PM, Thursday, April 2.
Contest winners will be announced on Sunday, April 12 at 2 PM in the
lower court area of the BPL.
Contest Rules
1. All
work on the poster must be done by the young person and must be
original. Children of BPL and the Avoca Branch Library employees may not
enter the contest.
2. The entry should measure at least 8. 5 inches x 11 inches.
3. All contestants must agree to allow to the BPL to display his or her entry.
4. Judging
will be Monday, April 6. Judges will be one BPL Board of Trustees
member, one BPL staff member, and one representative from a local
organization.
