Book Returns, Shirts, Congrads!

Book Returns

In case you hadn't heard, now OWL books can be returned at any OWL library.  That means that a patron can return a Johnson City book here or that one of ours can be turned in at Sullivan County.  So if anyone asks about returning books to other libraries, be sure and tell them that they can indeed return them to any library in our consortium.

Shirts

If you ordered (or think you might have ordered) one of the nifty NASA Read T shirts for Summer Reading Program, please see Brenda.  She has mislaid the list.  Speak now or risk having to wear last year's SRP shirt!

Garry Wakely's son Will was chosen as one of the "Appalachian Highlands Twenty Under 20" students for "amazing achievements in academics, community service, leadership, and entrepreneurial endeavors."  Well done, Will!

Check out the Facebook page for updates:  Twenty Under 20

"Last Thursday, it was revealed our son, Will Wakely, was chosen as one of the Appalachian 20 Under 20, a group of 20 outstanding young people from the 33 surrounding counties of Southwest Virginia, Northeast Tennessee and Western North Carolina.  This achievement is in no small part due to the support and encouragement of the staff at the Bristol Public Library.  The staff has been exemplary in their interactions with Will since we moved here in 2007, and their enthusiasm, kindness and caring have helped mold Will to be the young man that he is today.  The achievement of his being selected for the 20 Under 20 shows the power of the library to have a positive impact on those that pass through the doors. On behalf of he and our family, I would like to thank each and every one of you for being a part of his life.

Garry Wakely"

Sending out good wishes and prayers to Brenda G.!  We miss your smiling face!

Happy Easter
