It's Beginning to Feel A Lot Like Christmas!

"Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! Will there be enough room?"

Yes, it's time for the Annual Christmas Tree Parade!  Michelle & company would love to have Staff trees as well.  Remember the trees need to be no more than two feet tall and use a children's book as a basis for the theme.  You can pick up a complete set of rules in the Children's Department.

Yee-haw! This year the Staff Christmas Party is going to be a rootin' tootin' affair when Janice throws a Cowboy Christmas Bash!  Brisket and BBQ will be on the menu courtesy of the library, as well tea and coffee.  Janice will be bringing cowboy beans and pecan pie.  Still needed:  salads, desserts, condiments, veggies.  There's a sign up sheet in the kitchen.  Just let Janice know what you'll be bringing and mark your calendars:

Saturday, December 3rd
Gather at 5:30pm; chow down at 6:00 pm
Cowboy Christmas

Note:  Please do not wear spurs indoors as it will scratch the floors and pick the carpets.  Horses must be securely tethered.  Any "accidents" are the responsibility of the owner.

Events
  • Thursday night is the much anticipated Christmas with the Cake Boss at Viking Hall!  Please refer ticket requests to Sarah.  It's hard to believe that it's finally here!
  • Sunday afternoon at 2 PM it'll be Tales from the Moonshine Trade with Kathy Shearer.  There will be a presentation, followed by book sales and signing.

Happy Birthday!

Last but not least, it's time to consider the spirit of the season, which is in giving to others.  Not long ago, we were given forms from United Way to make it more convenient for those who wished to contribute to do so.  United Way has contributed to a number of very important local organizations, including the Patricia Freedman Literacy Academy.  If by some chance you did not get a form, see Mr. Barry.  The forms need to be turned in ASAP to Sherry Castleberry in the Comptroller’s office, though Mr. B. has kindly offered to take over any forms.  However, they need to be turned in NOW.  All donations are appreciated.
