Congratulations, Flu Shots, Cornbread & Birthdays!

Continuing Education
Congratulations to all those who completed the Continuing Education hours for 2015-2016!  Amy has a certificate and a Blackbird Bakery card for those diligent folk. We're now working on hours for the 2016-2017 year, so be sure to record your hours.  Webjunction is always adding new webinars, but there are also other opportunities available-- including some very convenient ones such as some of the lectures sponsored by the Bristol Historical Association or the King Institute for Faith and Culture, both of whom often meet here in the library.

Again, congratulations to those who completed their hours!  Here's hoping that Amy has to give out even more cards next year!
 Flu shots
Remember, flu shots for City employees will be available on October 25 and 27.  A copy form you need to fill out and take with you is posted on the Employee Bulletin Board.  LIS staff members, please let Ambrea know if you want to go and get a shot so she can schedule a time.

Fall is in the Air
"Pumpkins, leaves-- it must be treat time!"
And that makes it a perfect time for soup beans and cornbread! We're planning a fall country lunch on Thursday, October 27.  Bring whatever you like to eat with the above two items (onions, slaw, potato salad, whatever) and we'll chow down! Avoca, you're invited too!

Update:  Ambrea will bring Taco Soup!

Happy Birthday!
October is a big month for birthdays at BPL.  How big?  So big that we'll be having two cakes this month!  Look for the first cake on October 20 to celebrate the natal days of several fine folks, including the following:
Susan W.   October 14
Becky W. (Volunteer)  October 14
Christy L.  October 20
