Wear Purple Day

To help raise awareness of the problem of Domestic Abuse, Tuesday, October 4 will be "Wear Purple Day."  This should not present a hardship to certain staff members.  Right, Joyce?

Columbus Day

We do have a holiday on the horizon.  Main and Avoca will both be closed Monday, October 10, for Columbus Day.

Library License Plates

If you live in Virginia, you may be able to get library license plates soon!  The DMV is taking orders for a specialty plate with the library symbol and a heart.  A portion of the fee will go to the Virginia Library Association.  The catch is that they must sell 400 plates first. Applications are available at Reference. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please pass the word along!
